DiJAI workshop on Digital Journalism at Sivakasi

@Digital Journalists Association of India (DiJAI) organises a workshop at AAA College of Engineering and Technology, Sivakasi on Saturday, 24th March 2018.  DiJAI is also launching a Students Forum at Sivakasi to involve the students of various colleges in positive digital journalism.  Around 300 students from 8 Colleges participate. 

Dr Santhosh Babu IAS inaugurates the workshop.  Sangeeta Dua,Founder, TVHouston delivers key note address from US.

DiJAI organises a workshop on 'Digital Journalism' and launches Students Forum of DiJAI at Sivakasi



Digital Journalists Association of India (DiJAI) organises a full-day workshop on Digital Journalism at AAA College of Engineering and Technology, Sivakasi on Saturday, 24th march 2018.  Around 200 students from different colleges participate.  DiJAI also plans to start a Students Forum at Sivakasi covering the local colleges.

DiJAI Invites Amateur Writers (non professionals and students) in English and Tamil



The Digital Journalists’ Association of India (DiJAI – www.dijai.in) invites non-professionals and students with writing skills in English and Tamil, to contribute their work/articles on any topic, for scrutiny, for publishing in the digital portal, digitalpresense.com. Outstanding contributions would be considered for inclusion in the e-magazine, PreSense. In this regard, the Editorial Team’s decision in the matter will be final and binding and binding.

DiJAI, an initiative of the e-magazine, PreSense, was formed in March 2016, with the objective of honing the professional skills of digital journalism among professionals and amateurs. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras is its knowledge partner.  In July 2017, DiJAI launched the Student Forum in two city colleges for women, in Chennai, to encourage potential and prospective writers among the students, and to help hone their writing skills. 

It is under this initiative that DiJAI is extending this opportunity to all non-professional writers and students,  if they are interested in getting associated with DiJAI.

How to write for Digital media - Presentation by Prime Point Srinivasan


Anna University organised a three-day workshop on "Writing for Media" from 5th October 2017 to 7th October 2017.  In this unique workshop, professionals from different segments like Print Media, Television Media, Cinema, Researchers, etc. shared their views.  Media Science students of the University were the participants. 

Prime Point Srinivasan, Founder of the Digital Journalists Association of India (DiJAI) made a presentation on "How to write for Digital Media"   During his speech, Srinivasan explained the difference between writing for conventional media and digital media, including the reading habits and expectations of readers.  He also gave tips to make the articles scannable and readable in the screen.  

Dr. Arutselvan, Asst. Professor of Media Science Department organised this workshop.  The ppt presentation by Srinivasan is embedded here.
