DiJAI organises a Workshop on 'Essentials of Digital Journalism' at IIT Madras
DiJAI will kick start its activities with a workshop on "Essentials
of Digital Journalism" on Saturday, 2nd April 2016 at IIT Madras.
Tentatively, the programme will be as follows:
10.00 am - Inauguration by Dr Santhosh Babu IAS
10.30 am - "Digital Journalism Tools" by Dr Muthukumaran
11.15 am - Tea
11.30 am - "Legal Issues in Digital Media" by Shri N Ramesh,
Advocate
12.15 pm - "Ethics in Digital Media" by Shri Cyber Simman,
Senior Digial Journalist
01.00 pm - Sum up
01.15 pm - Lunch
Professionals involved in digital journalism, e-magazines, electronic
newsletters in portals, and corporate contributors to online news portals are
eligible to participate in this workshop. There is no participation fee. DiJAI will
restrict the eligible registrants to 25 on a first-come-first-served basis.
Interested eligible professionals may kindly register their names before
28th March 2016. The confirmed participants will be contacted through email.

Digital Journalists Association of India (DiJAI) formed at Chennai
'Digital
Journalists Association of India' (DiJAI) was initiated as a Trust at Chennai,
India in March 2016, to hone the professional skills of digital journalism
among the professionals. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras
is its knowledge partner.
Prime Point
Srinivasan (Editor-in-Chief of the e-magazine, PreSense) is the
Chairman and Managing Trustee of this Trust. Shri Rajendran (Cyber
Society of India), Smt. Susan Koshy (Former General Manager of IDBI Bank
Limited and Editor of PreSense), Shri Nurullah (Tamil journalist), Dr Sudarshan
(IIT Madras), Shri E Perumal alias Bharathi Thamizhan (Online Editor of the
Publication, The Tamil Hindu), Shri Suryah (Managing Editor of the e-magazine,
New Gen Thamizhan) are the other trustees.
The Trustees
elected Shri E Perumal alias Bharathi Thamizhan as the President of
DiJAI. The Trustees also elected Shri Nurullah and Shri Rajendran as
Vice-President and Treasurer respectively.
